Customer Care FAQs
Already part of the CARLIGHT family? We've got you.
Find answers about servicing, repairs, warranty requests, towing, water systems, batteries, electrical equipment and spare parts for your CARLIGHT caravan or trailer.
SERVICING, REPAIRS & WARRANTY
We recommend an initial service after approximately three months, followed by a service at 12 months and annually thereafter. More frequent servicing may be appropriate depending on use, distance travelled and operating conditions. See Book a Service.
You can book servicing through the CARLIGHT workshop. If you use another service provider, ensure they are suitably qualified and retain the service records and invoices. Contact CARLIGHT before authorising repairs that may be the subject of a warranty claim.
Complete our Service, Repair or Warranty Request Form and include your VIN, a clear description of the issue, photographs and relevant service records. Submitting a request does not automatically confirm warranty coverage or a workshop booking.
It will generally need to remain at our workshop for approximately seven days. Inspections, complex repairs or parts availability may require additional time.
Order available parts through our Parts Store or contact CARLIGHT if you cannot identify the required item.
WATER & BATHROOM SYSTEMS
Capacity varies by model and installed options. Check your product specifications or handover information for the capacity of your water tank and hot-water system.
Allow approximately 50 minutes for the water to heat fully. Heating time may vary depending on the starting water temperature. Most systems automatically cut out at approximately 65°C.
It is generally the cassette waste-tank level indicator. When illuminated, the cassette should be emptied in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
TOWING & LOADING
Check the tyre information provided for your specific caravan or trailer and measure pressures when the tyres are cold. Contact CARLIGHT if you are unsure.
Tow-ball weight varies by model and changes with loading. Product specifications may show the unladen ball weight, but the loaded caravan should be weighed to confirm its actual towing weights.
No — our AL-KO anti-jerk coupling system minimises sway when loaded properly.
We recommend a maximum towing speed of 100 km/h. Always comply with the posted speed limit and any lower limit applying to your tow vehicle, trailer, tyres or location. Reduce your speed when road, traffic, weather or loading conditions require it.
Yes, provided it is securely stored and the caravan remains within its ATM, GTM, tow-ball and axle limits. Position heavier items low and forward, avoid placing excessive weight at the rear.
BATTERY & ELECTRICAL
Off-grid capacity depends on the fitted battery, solar equipment, weather and electrical usage. High-consumption appliances may require mains power or a suitable inverter if one is installed.
It supplies the caravan’s 12-volt system and charges the battery when connected to an appropriate 240-volt power supply. Operation varies by the equipment fitted.
Common causes include appliances being left on, insufficient charging, poor connections or the battery protection system switching off. Turn off unnecessary loads and check the available charging source. Contact CARLIGHT if the battery does not recover.
ll CARLIGHT caravans and trailers are fitted with a 7-pin flat trailer plug. Some electrical equipment may require a separate Anderson plug connection.
